Reporting to the Manager, First Line Response, the team work to support all RTÉ output from our Dublin (Donnybrook) campus. This includes supporting, maintaining and operating the technical broadcast systems for RTÉ One, RTÉ Two, RTÉ Radio 1, 2FM, RTÉ News, Fair City and all other output.
RTÉ, Ireland’s public service media organisation operates nine integrated structural divisions. They are Operations and Production Services, Corporate Affairs, Audience, Channels & Marketing, Transformation & Technology, Finance, Human Resources, Content, News & Current Affairs and Commercial.
RTÉ invite applications for the position of Assistant Broadcast Engineer working within the Operations and Production Services Division. This is a key role within the multi-disciplined First Line Response team.
Reporting to the Manager, First Line Response, the team work to support all RTÉ output from our Dublin (Donnybrook) campus. This includes supporting, maintaining and operating the technical broadcast systems for RTÉ One, RTÉ Two, RTÉ Radio 1, 2FM, RTÉ News, Fair City and all other output.
As part of the overall First Line Response team the Assistant Broadcast Engineer will support the department in performing the following services:
- Acts as the primary responders for broadcasting issues within RTÉ
- Manages the resolution of broadcasting issues by working alongside other RTÉ departments
- Supports and maintains broadcasting systems onsite
- Provides operational engineering for all output, including routing of lines and talkback, lining up and routing incoming/outgoing feeds, and overseeing distribution of output
The role of the Assistant Broadcast Engineer will be to work with the wider team when it comes to coping with the operational demands of the department, while also being able to add value where able to the support and maintenance of broadcast equipment within RTÉ.
